KONO is a high-efficiency 2-way loudspeaker designed for natural, dynamic, and immersive sound reproduction. Handcrafted in Barcelona from FSC-certified hardwoods, it merges refined acoustic design with powerful pro-grade components—ideal for both home and professional environments. The design is built around a 33 cm cubic enclosure, housing an 8″ woofer with an aluminum voice coil and fiberglass former, and a 1″ aluminum dome tweeter mounted in a hand-shaped conical wooden horn. These drivers were selected for their excellent transient response, low distortion, and power handling capacity—offering clarity, authority, and reliability even at high volumes.

The KONO achieves a wide frequency response from 50 Hz to 20 kHz and a sensitivity of 96 dB @ 1W/1m, making it compatible with a wide range of amplifiers. However, it is designed to shine in modular active systems: there is no internal crossover, and each driver is intended to be powered and managed independently via a multichannel DSP amplifier. This allows for fine control over phase, EQ, and dynamics—without compromise. Its sculptural form is not only aesthetic. The smooth cubic geometry and solid wood horn reduce edge diffraction and optimize dispersion, enhancing imaging and presence. All units are hand-stained and finished with matte varnish for a refined yet natural look.

What kind of amplifier do I need?

KONO requires a multichannel amplifier with DSP capable of independently managing each driver (woofer and tweeter).
We recommend solutions like the Powersoft Quattrocanali for 2-way stereo systems, or the Powersoft X4 if you wish to integrate subwoofers (SUB15 or SUB18) and create a 3- or 4-way setup. If you need help selecting or configuring your system, we’ll be happy to assist.

Can I use a tube amplifier?

Yes, but you’ll need a version with a passive crossover, which we offer only on request. Contact us if you’re interested in that option.

Does it include amplification? Is it plug & play?

No. KONO does not include amplification and is designed for users looking to build a fully controlled active system.
However, for domestic use, we can provide—on request—a compact DSP amplifier module, preconfigured and silent, ready to connect.

What kind of connections does it have?

KONO uses gold-plated binding post terminals, compatible with bare copper wire or banana plugs. This ensures a secure, high-fidelity connection.

Can it be wall-mounted or used with a stand?

Yes. We offer two options:

• Rear concealed wall-mount, ideal for fixed installations
• Custom wooden pyramid stand, perfect for independent use or listening roomsBoth options are available on request.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship from Barcelona to all of Europe. Taxes and customs fees outside the EU are not included.

What kind of speaker cable is recommended?

We recommend using high-purity OFC copper cables with a minimum cross-section of 2.5 mm², low resistance and low capacitance. For applications requiring greater precision and build quality, handcrafted cables from specialist manufacturers such as Wires 4 Music may offer additional value.
